Exhibitions, I am the one who is untraceable

Ms. Abutrabi has been active for years; From the periods when she worked in watercolours to the middle periods that focused on figuration, and now that she has shown her collection of landscapes. I was familiar with her works, and we had exchanged opinions and critical reviews before. In this period, it is true that the spaces are scenery and landscape, and I feel that many of them have been worked in the studio; But they still have some of their previous figurative works. Only their approach to the painter’s behaviour – compared to the previous group – has been different. In the figurative space, that expressive quality was dominant, and the type of colours, behaviour, and the atmosphere they created were very different to this collection.” Analysing the artistic approach of Abutorabi in her new collection, Adambakan adds: “On one side this collection is ahead of her previous one; The colours are placed in the right places, and they talk to each other. Only those emotions that existed in her figurative works have reached stability. And even the colours have reached a certain interactive stability in this collection. Regarding Abutorabi’s outlook and whether she has a traditional view of the landscape in her new collection, he adds: “Surely, whether you work in nature or outside it, use one’s imagination or a photographic medium, your outlook and how you portray the scene, transfers your mental space and this is natural. When you ask about a traditional outlook, we should see this traditional view based on the understanding of beauty and aesthetics. Certainly, the artist and her views are transferred to the viewer from the canvas as a medium. In traditional perspective, it is possible that the general people see the nature in a different way compared to a professional painter, and this is her difference. Although there may be some common views as well. A scenic view, a prairie, may look different because of colours and brush strokes of an artist. The difference is visible when we witness the strokes of the pen and the selection of different colours by professional painters. Here, we may encounter a colour in the painting of this professional artist that does not exist in nature. This difference of view makes nature look different from the view of any artist, and the attraction of the story is also here. In my opinion, Abutorabi’s collection has this feature, and this is the successful part of her work.
